My new frige isn't working. Can't Post - Sign Up!

I bought a Kenmore Elite Trio just before Russell was born, so about a year ago. About a month ago I got a notice in the mail that there was a recall on the compressor. Called Sears and it was replaced one week ago today.

This morning when I opened the frige it didn't seem as cold as usual, but I didn't realize it wasn't working until I opened the freezer. The ice is melting and the ice cream is soft. Natually, Sears can't come out today. They can come Thursday. My birthday. Unsure That's what I want to do all day on my birthday is wait for the Sears repairman.

Oh, and I threw the old compressor out because I assumed it was faulty.

I called and left a message with a local repair place. If I don't hear from them my lunch I'll call again. Sometimes they just show up.

Strange thing is the Sears repairman is the same guy who used to work for the local place, but about 6 months ago he switched jobs.

That really sucks; I'd hate to spend my birthday waiting for a repairman as well. Crazy

I've just about had it with Sears too. This is our second washer from them, and it's still marking up our "clean" clothes. Aaaggghhhh!
Happy birthday though. I hope nothing else goes wrong in our house before my birthday next week. I'm hoping to be able to give the kids a bath by wednesday!
Don't you hate the way repair people can never give an approximate time for a repair call. I have trouble believing that they don't have a schedule to keep.

Sears...when they are good they are excellent. When we built our house we bought our dishwasher, fridge, ovens, washer, and dryer from Sears. They had to replace the dishwasher twice, replace major parts of one of the ovens several times, the darn ice maker in the fridge has been nothing but a pain in the behind (they replaced it, replaced, it, replaced it...we now just old, fashioned ice trays and store bought ice), the washer had to be repaired twice in a short period of time. Ugh!

The repairman we always asked for was a total charm. He showed up on time, he always brought new parts instead of just making do with fixing the old parts, and he was nice. He died last year.Frown

The next time anything needs fixing on this stuff, we'll be buying new appliances and it won't be from Sears.
