Just in case you are wondering what to have for dinner . . . . Can't Post - Sign Up!

. . . . have this! Cayenne's recipe for Bean and Hominy soup is something I like to make when I have no time or I just want something really, really simple (which is tonight). I have a whole host of super-quick recipes I can make in a flash and this is one of them.

I like to revisit some of my favorites here because this is the place where I came to get vegan support when first becoming vegan and made a bunch of friends and found out that they are some of the most awesome cooks. If you haven't checked out the recipes archives yet, you should! You never what you're going to find in there.

I had completely forgotten about that recipe. Thanks for reminding me. Laugh

I like to buy the ingredients for that soup whenever
  1. I'm stocking up hurricane supplies
  2. I'm buying food for a food pantry.
Now I need to go dig around in the archives for other people's recipes I might have forgotten about.

It's corn with the hull(germ) removed. Grits are ground up hominy. Here in the Southeast US many people call them hominy grits.
You can purchase whole hominy, but I've never been wild about it. I'd rather have good old fashioned corn.
