I noticed on my You Tube account, that several subscriptions have "magically" appeared, complete with status updates detailing when I subscribed to them. The problem is, I actually did NOT subscribe to them. They are videos such as tutorials to digital photography, video games, and other things that I really have no interest in. I deleted each one of them. Has this happened to anyone else? If there is any computer/You Tube expert who knows how and why this happens, and how I can prevent this from happening, could you let me know? These subscribers were harmless--just not interesting to me--but I'm worried that a subscription to a racist or hate group's videos might appear on my page some day.

I hardly ever am signed into youtube, but I just checked, and the only subscription I have is one that I remember signing up for. Is it possible that you were logged in and someone else in the house signed up for the subscriptions, maybe thinking it was for them? If not, I'd write to youtube to let them know...as you said, it was benign this time, but could be otherwise in the future. If it is a software problem or a hacker problem on their side, they need to know about it!

No, it hasn't happened to me - but I've had weirdo's subscirbe to me, even though I've never posted a clip.
