4th fail from same cookbook Can't Post - Read Only Forum!

I'm done with the Babycakes cookbook. It's awful. You know the cookies are bad when your kids won't even eat them.

Never sold a book back on Amazon, but I guess there is a first time for everything.

Unfortunately I'm very familiar with Babycakes store and their cookbook. I had purchased their vegan cupcakes and other baked goods several times, and I always enjoyed them, although they are somewhat pricey. A little over a year ago I decided to buy their cookbook from their store to make my own. I went to my local health food store and purchased may of the main ingredients listed, spending at least $100, and proceeded to make some. The first was a fiasco, the cake part of the cupcake was hard and dry, and the frosting never thickened enough to use, it was a grainy liquidy mess. I tried two different recipes and they were also horrible. The cookbook is a fraud. I am an experienced cook and baker and have never failed to prepare any recipe I tried; until this book. It was a big waste of money and time. If you look at the reviews on Amazon, the vast majority of them trash the book. I made the mistake of not reading online reviewes before buying the book and all the ingredients which I'm unlikely to use for other purposes. But I never bought a scam cookbook before. Apparently the owner/author Erin didn't want to share her recipies, which is her prerogative, but they why sell a cookbook with bogus recipies?

so that people can think, "oh, cool! i can make my own babycakes cupcakes!" and then they fail and think, "well i guess babycakes just has a magic touch so i'll have to keep buying their cupcakes instead."

Alexi, I bought the book quite some time ago. There weren't a lot of reviews of it then. I've had the same experience as you.
